I went to church yesterday, and let me tell you. After the preaching, I felt guilty. It wasn’t just me either. The whole room was silent. My pastor preached about the danger of covetousness, which is partly caused by discontent and ungratefulness. At some point of our lives, we’ve all felt this. We’ve wished for another person’s body, status, or possessions. We’ve complained about the little things in our life that another person doesn’t have the privilege of having.
With social media these days, it’s so easy to want what other people have after looking at all of the glamorous and picture perfect photos. We have to live with a grateful spirit. If we’re constantly feeling a desire for more, earthly things aren’t going to fulfill us. Only God’s love will. Instead of complaining about the thing we don’t have, we should thank God for what we do have. Everything we have is through His mercy after all.
I hope that this post is an encouragement for the start of your week. I felt like I was writing this for myself! If you aren’t subscribed to my email list, click here to subscribe! I’m going to send out a newsletter once every two weeks with my current faves, advice, etc. The first one will be sent this Wednesday. Thanks for reading!
